KOSMOS for Port65 digital fish auction in Singapore
As Port65 is convinced that digital auctioning is the way forward for Singapore’s seafood industry, the company decided to order KOSMOS, our digital trading platform in the cloud.
Port65, based in Singapore’s Jurong Fishery Port, has a long history of selling fish from the region six days a week. However, after visiting our customer and KOSMOS pioneer Visveiling Urk in the Netherlands and thoroughly studying the possibilities and trumps of a well-organised clock sale in the cloud, Port65 decided to order a KOSMOS licence for three years.
Given the fact that their ultimate purpose is to create one big digital fish auction platform for the whole of Singapore, Port65 will use this time to introduce step by step the online auctioning concept to the market.
“The cultural and behavioural shift will be crucial, but Port65 is ready, willing and able to lead this transformation”, Mr. Junting Ang, owner of Port65, explains. “Our mission is to move the seafood industry forward—safe, efficient, bustling—with the vision of having better seafood on Singapore tables as well as a more vibrant seafood sector.”
“Patrick Bauwens, E-Trade Systems Business Unit Manager at Aucxis, adds: “Throughout the years we digitised no less than 65 fish auctions around the world. Today, we are proud to share our knowledge with Port65 and to assist them to achieve step by step their auctioning goals.”
The KOSMOS platform for Port65 will be launched this spring.
